Born in Warsaw. His interest in visual world started very early;
he drew before he could speak. In Poland he created numerous
sculptures and won prestigious awards. In 1966 he immigrated to
USA. Impressed by America's outdoors, he started new style in
sculpture "Inspired by Nature". He included rocks or driftwood in
his sculptures together with copper, bronze and other metals.

In his paintings Tomaszewski is using acetylen torch instead of brush.
His paper is burned, charred or singed to depict strong emotion like
tragedy or joy of life. Successful show of his paintings in Warsaw
encouraged him to do similar show in New York. In 1994 Tomaszewski
founded a multimedia group called 'Emotionalist'. The group promotes
art evaluated by the resonance of the viewers.
